Back in the Fall of 2018, we were busily stuffing the usual assortment of flashy plastic gear into a pack as we prepped for a grueling multi-day loop route through the Yosemite High Country, when an epiphany struck. Shouldn’t the gear we proudly haul into the wilderness embrace the rugged natural beauty of those places?
-We got into this gear game just like you, as nature-loving adventurists who appreciate the newest innovations in outdoor gear, but also give a damn about protecting the places we love. It’s a tricky business balancing those consumerist habits and environmentalist values, but we’re diving in head first to build a brand where they don’t conflict with one another. Our goal is to design and build awesome gear that you can feel good about owning and wearing into the outdoors, whether your passion is camping, hiking, backpacking, or any other outdoor activity.

Eukarya is a California based outdoor equipment brand specializing in design using renewable and sustainable materials. The Origin Headlamp, and many of our other products, are all are designed and hand assembled in the USA.

We are combining precision engineering and natural material craftsmanship to create exceptional products that embrace the beauty of the places you take them.
Reduction of Plastic Waste
Eukarya strives to reduce the plastic waste that is clogging our planet's landfills. Not only do we minimize the use of plastic components in favor of natural materials for our products, we also demand higher standards from our entire supply chain. We ask each of our suppliers to ship us parts in recyclable or compostable packaging rather than single use plastic bags and trays. It's one small step on a journey to change the habits of manufacturers worldwide.
